The New Year Resolution

Tradition dictates that every 365 days, you should try to kick bad habits and start your life anew. So sit down with a cup of coffee, a paper and a pen, and reflect: What kinds of New Years Resolutions will you make for yourself this January 1st?

However, before you start writing, we have a few tips that may make your resolutions more attainable. First, be specific! You are more likely to achieve weight loss if you set a limit, such as "I want to lose twenty pounds," rather than just saying, "I am going to lose weight." Second, break down large goals into smaller ones. For example, commit to physical fitness by resolving to visit the gym once a week or eliminate soda from your diet. These goals are so much easier to cope with than suddenly becoming perfectly healthy. Finally, choose a goal that means something to you. Change is much easier to enforce when it is truly something you want to do. So, ignore all the know-it-alls in your life, and starting planning resolutions that make you happy.
